Abdullah Gül University is organizing scientific meetings such as conferences, workshops, etc. related to global problem. Zero Waste Committee introduce Turkey & AGU's pledge towards Zero Waste. AGU promotes 100% renewable energy use via different meetings and workshops. AGU participated in the Zero Waste Management Provincial Workshop held at the Melikgazi Municipality.
AGU participates in the provincial coordination meetings held periodically by the Kayseri Municipality with local institutions for a dialogue on SDGs.
AGU participated in the Let's Work Together in Smart Urban Planning Workshop organized by Smart City owned by Kaysei Municipality. Dr.Alkan made a presentation. 3 academicians from the Architecture Department participated to workshop sessions and provided support.
Abdullah Gül University, as a New Generation University focusing on Societal Impact, partners with international, national and local governments in order to positively impact its communities. AGU has therefore been, since 2015, a leading member of in the Municipality’s "Kayseri 2050" project. AGU participates or hosts the several "Kayseri 2050" meetings and workshops that take place yearly.
This project aims at determining the city’s strategic roadmap and, among other topics, addressing urban planning issues, transportation systems, planning for climate change disasters, ensuring that citizens can continue to reside in affordable housing, etc.
Ceyda Cihan Aydoğdu, a psychology department research assistant at Abdullah Gül University, has been selected as the Kayseri province Coordinator of the 'Hold on to the Counseling Network in Fight Against Suicide' (İ.M.D.A.T.) project, which was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports within the scope of the Youth projects support program (2020-1) and implemented through the Mental Health Association.
Within the scope of the project, experts who have received training in subjects such as therapy approaches to suicide, law and sociology related to suicide for about a year will carry out activities aimed at preventing suicide and providing psychosocial support to cases in the society as project representatives in the provinces where they are located.
In the project to be carried out between 2020-2022, in the project where the academicians working in the universities in our country contribute with their training and consultancy services, Ceyda Cihan Aydoğdu contributed to the project with her training on "Social Media and Suicide" with educational support.
