Joint Step from Universities for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: UN SDSN Meeting

Abdullah Gül University (AGU) participated in the UN SDSN (United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network) Meeting held on June 14, 2023, hosted by Boğaziçi University and also available online. Dr. Fatma Şener Fidan attended the meeting as AGU’s representative.

At the meeting, which focused on evaluating the progress and new projects related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established in 2015 with a target for achievement by 2030, representatives from 28 universities across Turkey, including rectors, vice-rectors, and NGO representatives, were present. Ege University was represented by Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Banu Yücel, Rankings Office Head Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Takma, and Sustainability Office Head Assoc. Prof. Dr. Göknur Şişman Aydın.

The meeting covered the latest developments in sustainability efforts both globally and locally, facilitating the exchange of ideas among participants to plan new initiatives in the field of sustainable development. The meeting concluded with the presentation of participants' suggestions.
