As the Sustainability Coordination Office of Abdullah Gül University (AGU), we are immensely proud of our university’s “Highly Commended” recognition at the internationally renowned International Green Gown Awards and delighted to be the first university from Turkey to achieve this honor. Supported by Allianz Global Investors and the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment Programme) and managed by EAUC in the UK, these awards were held for the 10th time this year.
Aiming to inspire universities worldwide to develop sustainability projects in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, this year’s event featured 95 universities from 28 countries. AGU was recognized in the "2030 Climate Action" category with its project, “Towards a Greener Future: AGU’s Journey to Becoming a Carbon-Neutral University,” making it the first university from Turkey to receive an award.
This award reinforces AGU's commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2029 and highlights our dedication to sustainability and environmental consciousness.
