Abdullah Gül University became the first Turkish university to receive both ISO 14064-1:2018 Carbon Footprint Certificate and ISO 14046:2014 Water Footprint Certificate issued by QSI.
QSI is a certification body affiliated with Global Certification, an accredited system certification service provider headquartered in the UK.
AGU received the Carbon Footprint Certificate for the second time and the Water Footprint Certificate for the first time.
The carbon and water footprint calculations made for the Sümer Campus were prepared by the AGU Sustainability Office, coordinated by Dr. Fatma Şener Fidan.
As a third-party certification organization, QSI audited AGU after the submission of the calculations and reports for its corporate carbon and water footprint, and awarded AGU with both certificates.
These internationally recognized certificates were issued based on the measurement, reporting and reduction of greenhouse gases and water consumption at the corporate level, which can be used to combat climate change caused by human factors in institutions and organizations.
AGU will continue to develop projects to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption while setting an example for other universities with its sustainability activities.
